watching  Joan of Arc

getting dressed  

dark ,hair blazing eyes

bob  hair cut

ink  on her ribs-

I am not frightened

I was born for this

last night

After the screams and growls 

became

soft moans

Became sleep

she dreamt

NOT 

Being

the Maid of Orleans

of 

wearing white

growing her hair out

dancing at a festival 

men in   power 

Will turn on her

Men in power 

will burn her at the stake

refuge in bed

sanctuary

for

a

moment

from 

from flames

from  battles

from destiny

from sainthood
