Rather lead her to acknowledge
Existence of unhappiness
That had always
Been inside her (like an altar)
mystery and tragedy of her own sex
her desire
mirror in that flat
ornate and gilded
it was here she judged herself
and examined
sorrows that were
begged
borrowed
and stolen
